Lead Administrator - Football Academics

Position Description

Performs managerial work providing direction and guidance in setting and achieving goals and objectives.

Major/Essential Functions

• Monitor and evaluate progress toward degree and eligibility requirements for a caseload of football student-athletes. Maintain records in compliance with the University, Big 12 Conference and NCAA standards
• Serve as a contact between Academic Services and the football coaching staff; Assist Leadership Academy in coordinating faculty/staff guest coaching activities for football
• Serve as an athletic academic services liaison to staff and faculty; Work in collaboration athletic compliance and athletic certification to ensure proper procedures and process
• Collaborate with the Learning Assistance Program staff to assign tutoring, learning specialist sessions, academic coaching meetings, and study hall requirements for student-athletes
• Monitor academic progress and proactively create intervention plans
• Prepare necessary reports and updates for coaches and staff; Advise student-athletes in academic progress, degree selection, appropriate class selection, academic policies & campus resources
• Practice clearance for football student-athletes
• Additional administrative duties include but are not limited to: Red Raider Orientation (RRO) for Athletics; Coordinate Spring RRO and other RRO sessions for incoming Football signees; responsible football walk-on & tryout clearance
• Provide consistent and frequent communication with Assistant Athletics Director for Football Academics and with coaches about the progress of assigned student-athletes
• Comply with all NCAA, Big 12, the University, federal and state procedures, rules, regulations and policies
• Coordinate student-athlete class checking program for all sports
