Athletic Facility Supervisor

Job Summary

Summary of Job Duties:

The Athletic Facility Supervisor for Sports Turf Operations is responsible for the daily, monthly, and annual maintenance of multiple Arkansas Athletic Dept. grass playing fields, artificial/synthetic fields, and surrounding facility ground/landscape.

Minimum Qualifications:

• The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
• At least two years of experience in grounds facility maintenance and construction, including one year in a supervisory or leadership capacity

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least two years of supervisory experience in Sports Turf or Golf Course maintenance 
• Experience with sporting facilities i.e.  (Baseball, Softball, Football, Soccer, Track  facilities)
• Arkansas Pesticides License  

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Knowledge of sports turf maintenance (fertilization, chemicals, irrigation, IPM, cultural practices etc.)
• Knowledge of athletic events, facilities, and organized activities
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and standards for field layouts and marking/painting fields
• Ability to plan, coordinate, and organize cleaning and maintenance of athletic facilities
• Ability to safely operate: Reel mowers, sprayers, tractors, saws, topdressers, string trimmers, aerators
• Ability to calculate and apply fertilizers and chemicals in a safe manner
• Ability to supervise the work of subordinates
• Ability to perform maintenance on irrigation systems, preventative maintenance of issued equipment, and upkeep of the cleanliness/appearance of assigned facilities
