Head Track & Field and Cross Country Coach/Lecturer

Job Summary

Head Track and Field and Cross Country Coach and Lecturer in Physical Education is a full-time coaching and teaching position at the rank of lecturer. The successful candidate will coach, organize, and administer an intercollegiate varsity cross country program, indoor track and field program, and outdoor track and field program as well as teach lifetime sports and fitness activities in the physical education department.

Core Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identify, develop, and supervise assistant coach(s).
• Organize, manage, and schedule practices, training programs, and contests.
• Manage team travel and meals in consultation with the coordinator of travel and meal logistics.
• Work with the associate athletics director for communications to create contest schedules and properly recognize student-athletes.
• Create a team environment which allows all players to grow and develop as students, as athletes, as leaders, and as individuals.
• Foster relationships with team members so student-athletes feel supported in their academic endeavors and with their competitive goals.
• Engage with donors and potential donors as requested by the director of athletics.
• Promote a culture of health, well-being, and safety in all aspects of the varsity sport and physical education programs.
• Other duties as assigned.
