Assistant Coach - Softball - NCAA

Job Summary

The successful candidate will report to the Head Softball Coach and the Vice President and Director of Athletics and will be responsible for the coordination of the Women’s Softball program and for the recruitment and retention of highly talented student athletes.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help in meeting roster goals. Evaluation, Recruitment and Retention of quality student-athletes.
  • Assist Head Coach in all aspects of the daily operations of a NCAA Division III program including but not limited to on field coaching, scouting, practice schedules, home game management, coordination of all travel, Head Coach of Junior varsity program, and any other duties as assigned by the Head Softball Coach.
  • Additional Responsibilities could include teaching with-in the Health and Sciences or the Health and Physical Education Department, winter sport home gam manager, and/or any other duties assigned by the Director of Athletics.
  • Attend and participate in all department meetings. Abide by all policies and procedures as set forth in the University Student Handbook, the Student-Athlete Handbook and the Policy and Procedure Manual of the Athletic Department.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Competent knowledge and intercollegiate playing experience is required; college coaching experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with recruiting the NCAA Division III student-athlete.
  • Ability to work with Front Rush, Hudl, etc. Desire to coach within the NCAA Division III philosophy and the OAC guidelines as a private liberal arts institution and be an active member of the athletic department and the University community.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
