Job Summary:

It is the responsibility of the temporary assistant athletic trainer to support the Sports Medicine staff in leading a superior NCAA Division II sports medicine program at the University. The athletic programs are the front porch of the institution and it is paramount that the sports medicine program operates in a manner that is representative of the University. 


Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The temporary assistant athletic trainer shall perform all duties pertaining to her/his program.  Duties include but are not limited to:

• Provide emergency medical evaluation, treatment, and injury triage to student athletes during practice and/or competition. 

• The temporary assistant athletic trainer will effectively communicate verbally and in writing; develop effective working relationships with athletes and to serve as a liaison among athletes, coaching staff, parents, physicians and other health professionals. 

• The temporary assistant athletic trainer must engage in professional development. 

• The temporary assistant athletic trainer must at minimum have a bachelor's degree in athletic training or a related field; however a master's degree is preferred. He/she must also have a NATABOC certification and be registered with the State of Colorado.

The Associate Director of Athletics for Student Services is the temporary assistant athletic trainer's immediate supervisor in all matters with the University.  In order to insure a superior athletic training NCAA Division II program, performance of these duties will be continually evaluated and monitored.
