Job Summary

Bally Sports North/Bally Sports Wisconsin is looking for a freelance digital content assistant (DCA) to work in our Minneapolis office. This job will be roughly 30-40 hours a week. Working nights/weekends/holidays a must (hey, as you know, that's when a lot of the games are played).

The DCA's responsibilities include updating both of our websites, cutting highlights and interviews, coordinating stories, writing headlines, revising content, designing graphics, streaming live videos and assisting with coverage of live events both remotely and on site.

In addition, aggregating and publishing video content to multiple digital platforms including the websites, social media and YouTube channels.

Candidates must have a solid understanding of digital design principles, typography, design process and be knowledgeable of current trends, as well as communication skills, both verbal and written in addition to familiarity with Minnesota- and Wisconsin-based sports teams.

This position requires expert experience with Adobe Photoshop, proficiency with Adobe Premiere and Cloud Storage Management and competency with Adobe After Effects. Knowledge of social media trends, Wildmoka (or other live video editing platform) and content management systems are a plus. Experience with AP style is a plus, but not required. Must be self-directing, self-motivating and able to work with a diverse group of people. Ability to multitask and handle a large number of variables in the daily news workflow, including short deadlines, is a must.

This is a great opportunity for someone trying to break into the business, or looking to complement hours of another part-time job, as you get experience in a variety of skills and entry-level candidates and/or recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Please provide examples of your work, specifically video and graphics. Writing samples are encouraged as well.

Note: This job entails clipping of live sports events and writing headlines and social copy to a passionate sports fan base. Experience in or a knowledge of sports is highly preferred and should be noted in your resume and/or cover letter. Thank you.
