Under general supervision, members of the Housekeeping team are responsible for work in all aspects of general housekeeping and custodial duties for the  Center. 
 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform facility cleaning and janitorial tasks including, but not limited to, cleaning and stocking restrooms; sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, stripping, carpet cleaning, window washing and waxing as needed. 

  • Have the ability to clean, chairs, desks, counters, sinks, risers, tables, walls, carpets, concrete, terrazzo, and tile floors and operable walls and barricades as needed.

  • Perform janitorial cleaning of all interior non-public areas such as offices and service hallways.

  • Maintain the interior windows and glass doors throughout the building. 

  • Perform daily exterior ground cleaning and maintenance. 

  • Upkeep the readiness meeting rooms prior to event set-up which include, dusting window and door frames and fixtures, wiping down walls as required and cleaning of air duct grates. 

  • Perform deep cleaning/extraction and stain and gum removal on carpets in all areas during and after event hours or as required. 

  • Maintain designated housekeeping equipment, including but not limited to brooms, mops, buckets and wringers, toilet brushes, garbage bags, push brooms, cleaning cloths, gloves, masks and cleaning solutions, etc.

  • Report irregularities, discrepancies, safety, and damage concerns, and the loss of property promptly to the Director of Operations and/or Manager on Duty. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

 


Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to prioritize work, utilizing good organizational skills, to meet tight deadlines in an efficient manner. 

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure within stringent schedules and produce accurate results in a fast-paced environment.  

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form. 

  • Ability to interact with guests, vendors, and staff in a friendly, courteous, and polite manner. 

  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with the NKYCC team, exhibitors, temporary labor, patrons, in-house vendors, and others encountered during the events. 

  • Physical capability to lift, push up to 50 pounds, stoop, bend, climb stairs and work at heights to operate cleaning equipment as required.
