Job Summary

 
As a key contributor to the HR department, the Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for utilizing the Payroll system (Paylocity) to support the HR department’s strategic initiatives and goals. This person will be focused on all things involving Employee and Payroll data.
 
 
Primary Responsibilities

  • Attention to detail and strong communication skills (written and verbal). 

  • Prioritize and adhere to timelines.  

  • Review/ confirm new hires are set up accurately after successfully added into Payroll.

  • Review/ approve employee-initiated changes from the Self-Service Portal (direct deposit, demographic, tax, etc.). 

  • Understanding of child support orders, wage garnishment orders and tax levies.

  • Run and review data reports to detect payroll discrepancies. 

  • Conduct audits on payroll data and balance file totals.

  • Process employee payroll profile changes including but not limited to personnel action forms, Federal and state taxand benefit deductions.

  • Review personnel action forms to ensure they are complete and appropriately approved. 

  • Serve as backup support to the Payroll Manager for running regular semi-monthly payroll.

  • Support continued process improvement to include the adoption of best practice.  

  • Respond promptly to all payroll related questions   .

  • Other Payroll projects and duties as assigned.



Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree in a related field such as Human Resources, Business or Accounting

  • A minimum of 1-3 year of (hands on) multi-state payroll processing experience in a customer-facing organization

  • Payroll systems experience with Paylocity, ADP, Paychex, etc.

  • Independently proficient skills with Microsoft Office

  • Team player, strong work ethic and reliable.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills to maintain relationships at all levels of the organization and with vendors.

  • Able and willing to work non-traditional hours including evenings & weekends as needed.
