Job Summary
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to Basketball Operations staff
- Assist Coaching Staff with team workouts and practices: rebounding, running drills and working on plays with our team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programs is required along with a general understanding of basketball and the willingness to learn new skills with in the technological field
- Must be able to assist staff during practices, work in a fast-paced environment, and handle a variety of different jobs, both on the court and in the office
- Ability to lift at least 50lbs and have a valid driver's license
- Maintain a neat and organized workspace
- Willingness to accept any job given to them by the Basketball Operations staff, no matter the size of the task or the importance
Required Skills, Experience, and Abilities
- Must receive academic credit
- Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Familiarity with Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work on projects and maintain confidential information
- Willingness to work long hours
- Maintain professional image at all times
- Must have an interest in basketball, as well as familiarity with basketball terminology and statistics
- Prior collegiate- level basketball experience is not required, but is a plus
- In-depth knowledge of NBA and Collegiate basketball. Proficiency in video editing software is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours (nights, weekends, etc.)
- Must be able to receive academic credit
- Pursuing a degree in sports management/sports medicine, or the desire to pursue a career in the sports industry
- Possess a strong ability to manage one’s own time and prioritize tasks when given clearly defined goals and objectives
- Able to maintain confidentiality and use discretion when privy to sensitive information
- Strong teamwork skills
- Be a flexible and reliable team player, both within own department and the company as a whole
- Have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Presents self in professional manner and has the ability to interact with all levels of organization and outside contacts
- Dependability – consistently at work on time, follows instructions, responds to manager’s instructions
- Ability to multi-task, work extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays and the ability to attend company events
- Open to constructive criticism and the ability to adapt quick
- You should be a flexible and reliable member of the team, both within your own department and the company as a whole
