Job Summary

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Sports Administration, Business Administration, Marketing or Communication.

  • Minimum five to seven years prior office management experience required. 

  • Prior exposure to golf tournaments or sports event planning/operations preferred.

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) experience required.

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects.

 
Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Bridge the gap between partners, agencies, vendors and tournament staff by serving as central point of contact. 

  • Execute hospitality activation including contract review, client interface, credential fulfillment, venue design, menu creation, security needs, special event coordination, vendor management, etc. 

  • Serve as tournament contact for OMP sponsor activation. Work in conjunction with HQ staff to oversee the relationship with such clients as Grey Goose, Anheuser Busch, MasterCard, United Airlines, etc. 

  • Foster and uphold relationship with Title Sponsor as it relates to tournament services.

  • Secure and manage tournament vendors including but not limited to caterer, florist, landscaper, photographer and furniture vendor.

  • Develop ideas for fan enhancements, hospitality products, and sponsorship categories.

  • Complete required financial processes such as purchase order creation, expense allocation and budget management for all areas related to volunteers, sponsors, activation and services.

  • Collaborate on volunteer program activities including application design, registration process, training, recruitment, leadership structure, uniform ordering & distribution, catering, printed material, communication plan, etc.

  • Facilitate planning and execution of all special events outside of tournament week which may include Media Day, Corporate Hospitality Day, volunteer party, charity announcement, and any other special functions developed by the tournament teams.

  • Organize all pro-am/am-am event details including print materials, schedules, handicap verification, gifting, catering, awards and party execution.

  • Arrange all tournament orders for apparel, gifting, awards, supplies, etc.

  • Orchestrate all player and caddie amenities and activities including food and beverage, player hotels, courtesy car distribution, registration, sponsors value program, wives’ outings, childcare, and credentials.

  • Engage in charity administration when applicable. Activities may include silent auctions, Birdies for Charity Program, check presentations, and other duties as assigned.

  • Travel to other Championship Management tournaments in a support role assisting in areas such as housing, transportation, special events, honorary observer management, etc.

  • Special Projects or other duties as assigned.
