Job Summary


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Litigation:

  • Develop and maintain a case file indexing system that can be used as an active archive for all ongoing and completed cases

  •  Utilize existing files and a variety of other research resources to develop information on relevant facts and law of pending cases

  •  Work with attorneys to develop legal arguments, motions and other case filings

  •  Assist with preparation of legal documents, including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories

  •  Manage discovery process of pending cases

  •  Assist with trial preparation



Transactions:

  •  Act as contract expert and work with all Business Units to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency in approach and format

  • Evaluate and review requested contract changes; escalate deviations to division leadership and/or operational stakeholders, as appropriate

  • Implement and maintain system to organize and keep track of existing contracts and deadlines, including electronic file organization and management



Other:

  •  Assist Safe Sport division with case management and statistics 

  •  Assist Risk Management division with claims management

  •  Assist Human Resources division to ensure use of best practices and compliance

  • Create reports for attorneys based on case specifications and attorney requests

  • Prepare correspondence, as necessary

  • Monitor changes to relevant statutes and submit reports on pertinent changes



Qualifications:

  •  10+ years as a legal administrator, paralegal or similar position

  •  Certificate of completion from an ABA-approved paralegal certification program of education and training, or an associate degree in paralegal studies

  •  Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel

  •  Strong research and report-generating skills

  •  Experience in using legal database software

  •  Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment

  •  Ability to balance priorities to best focus on key organizational initiatives and meet deadlines

  •  Ability to effectively multi-task, manage time sensitive documents and have exceptional organizational skills

  •  Strong communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
