Job Description:
 
The Membership Manager is responsible for coordinating the Membership programs and Jr. Drag Racing League.  This role coordinates with ticketing, marketing, National Dragster, sales and website to support their respective missions, ensuring membership sales are incorporated throughout our season to increase our memberships.  The Membership Manager will be involved in creating a robust membership program with new recruitment, engagement and retention process while working closely with the Director of Ticketing to develop a cross-selling strategy with the ticketing team.  This position will report to the VP of Marketing and Communications.
 
Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Hire, train, and supervise membership staff.  Manage the day-to-day activities of the membership team at the corporate office and the Membership Hospitality Center at the National Events

  • Develop a strategy to reach new membership goals; including value added membership benefits

  • Supervise the successful planning and implementation of membership renewal campaigns

  • Manage member database and renewal mailings within the iMIS system and outside vendors

  • Provide support for membership activities, such as recruitment campaigns, prospect management and event displays

  • Maintain project plans, mailings, database management, and invoice processing

  • Coordinate membership advertising and promotions in National Dragster

  • Provide membership support and outreach via telephone, email and website  

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to coordinate development strategies 

  • Other duties as assigned

  
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5+ years of developing and managing membership based programs

  • Must be able to travel nationwide to 7 – 10 national events per year

  • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Knowledge of management software iMIS preferred
  • Strong creative writing skills and experience writing blog posts/articles a plus

  • Ability to problem solve and resolve challenges 

  • Ability to communicate both written and verbally in a professional manner

  • Positive, “can-do” attitude, flexible, team-oriented, attention to detail and shows initiative
