Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

Job Summary

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement and schedule sport specific strength and conditioning programs through fitness testing
• Compute results and evaluate student-athletes
• Assist with the planning, scheduling, and overall comprehensive development of a weight training program that improves athletic performance, reduces athletic injuries, and teaches lifelong fitness and movement skills
• Positively motivate athletes to perform at their best and to have a healthy attitude toward strength and conditioning
• Represent the University athletics to students, colleagues and the public as a positive place where athletes can develop to their best performance under supportive and healthy approaches

Required Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, Exercise Sport Science or related field
• A current relevant professional certification credentialed by an independent accreditation agency-for example, the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) certification
• Current standard first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillation (AED) certifications
• Experience in strength and conditioning programming
• Exposure to analysis and techniques of strength training
