An Athletic Facility - Tennis Director

Hanover, MA - Under the direction of the Associate Executive Director the Tennis Director is responsible for overseeing the administration and operation of all aspects of the programs. This includes but not limited to the management of 9 tennis courts, a budget size of one million dollars, tennis teams, contract tennis, private lessons, and all other developmental and competitive tennis programs. The facility has four indoor hard courts and six clay courts. Four of the clay courts are bubbled from September through May. From June through August the bubble is removed and we have six outdoor clay courts. These programs will achieve the associations goals and objective to provide a safe environment for all participants while ensuring superior member service. This job requires knowledge of and commitment to the mission of the company and its capacity to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities. The ability to articulate and model our four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility are essential.
Human Relations Skills:
The ability to develop positive, effective working relationships with members, parents, staff, and volunteers are critical to this position. Effective teaching skills, the ability to deliver excellent customer service, and a high level of enthusiasm are required.
Managerial Skills:
Supervision of staff within programs is important to this position. Poise and professionalism when addressing concerns and interacting with people, including issues of confidentiality. Communication in a timely fashion is critical with all constituencies.
Principle Responsibilities:
Supervisory Responsibilities supervises full time exempt, part time and non-exempt employees and volunteers.
a. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
b. Recruits, trains, and develops non-exempt and part time
c. Addresses complaints and resolves problems.
Perform all related administrative duties relating to the position and requested by your supervisor.
Develop annual plan of teen and advanced junior programs and services for the department that is consistent with community needs.

Work with appropriate branch staff to provide program facilities for members that are clean, adequately equipped, well maintained, and attractive.
Assist in program registration and program guide development.

Participate actively in Association activities, staff retreats and staff meetings.
Actively participate in delivering the Association's Strategic Plan as it relates to departments assigned.
Participate actively in the Annual Support Campaign for the branch.
Specialized Skills:

The successful candidate must:
Possess strong organization skills, especially in regards to program quality standards.

Must hold at least a P2 level of coaching.
Appropriate training (as determined by supervisor) must be completed within first year of employment. CPR and First Aid must be completed within the first 60 days of hire
