Description:

This position is responsible for performing rink resurfacing at designated times and performing maintenance tasks at the Aviator Sports and Events Center.   This position works independently under general supervision of the Executive Director of Ice Operations and Facility Director.

Several schedules are open - Monday-Friday evenings (time varies between 4pm-11pm), Saturday and Sunday daytime and evening shifts.  Must be flexible with working evenings and weekends. 

Essential Functions

Ø  Responsible for operating and driving the Zamboni ice resurfacing machine, edge conditioning, and other motorized equipment.

Ø  Maintain accurate records of ice cuts, blade changes and preventative maintenance.

Ø  Assist with annual ice building and painting of the rinks.

Ø  Performs custodial work in offices and building interior/exterior to include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and scrubbing/buffing machines.

Ø  Ensuring safety protocols are being followed by patrons and staff on/off the rink.

Ø  Investigate, analyze and resolve operational problems and customer complaints.

Ø  Assist with event set-ups and breakdowns.

Ø  Communicate regularly with maintenance staff about repair and maintenance needs on all equipment and assigned jobs.

Ø  Assist with sweeping outdoors and removing snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks.

Ø  Ability to learn to drive large equipment.

Ø  Assist with the outdoor fields set-up for soccer, football, lacrosse, etc. games.

Ø   Empty trash on the outdoor fields when needed.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Must be able to work evenings (through 11pm -) and weekend hours. Some scheduled shifts may include holidays.  Must be able to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, often independently. Able to lift 25-50 lbs without any limitations.  Experience driving a Zamboni and working with facility equipment.

Pay Rate:  $18 - $28 per hour.  Please note that the foregoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the New York City Salary Transparency Law.  Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
