Job Summary



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.   Must actively scout and recruit prospective student-athletes
2.   Knowledge of NRA and collegiate shooting sports contest rules and regulations
3.   Organize yearly competition schedules
4.   Organize all details of home and away meets/competitions, including team travel
5.   Maintain accurate documentation on all team members and keep up with their academic progress, as well as handling athletic compliance
6.   Manage the shooting sports facilities, including the maintenance and upkeep of the facilities
7.   Ensure all persons accessing the shooting sports facilities display a respect for weapons and range safety
8.   Organize and operate marksmanship intramural program and/or Shooting Sports Club
9.   Coordinate with VPO in fund-raising events to develop community support
10.   Keep accurate records and promptly submit all requested materials to appropriate administration
11.   Follow a departmental operations budget and  financial procedures
12.   Support departmental programs including meetings, trainings, program reviews, etc.
13.   Strong organizational, management, and interpersonal skills are necessary
14.   Strong communication skills demonstrating the candidate to be a positive motivator
15.   Must be able to lift more than 50-lb. objects; frequent bending, stooping, and walking.
16.   Can be exposed to a variety of weather conditions for periods of time.
17.   Be able to transport team to the contests, and be responsible for their well-being.
18. Other duties as assigned by Dean of the College of Agriculture, Science, and Nursing or his/her designee.

QUALIFICATIONS:


1.   Knowledge and application of shooting sports and weapons safety
2.   Knowledge and application of shooting sports facility maintenance




EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE


1.   Master’s degree in Wildlife Management or Ag related field preferred, Bachelor’s degree required plus minimum of four (4) years of experience either as an athlete or coach
2.   Collegiate shooting sports knowledge and experience required
3.   Proven shooting sports management experience and an in-depth understanding of the assigned discipline
4.   Any equivalent combination of education and experience
