Job Summary
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Primary Sports Information contact for all sports at the Community College
- Event Management Supervisor for home athletic events. Lead contact for all aspects of game management including fan interaction and game operations. Home events include games for men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s soccer, baseball and softball.
- Produces content for the university Athletics and College social media accounts
- Provides sports information coverage at home events including game management, video broadcasting and statistical record keeping functions
- Updates Athletics and College sites with game results, stories and information for home and away athletic events
- Reports game results and information to opposing institution’s sports information departments, the GSAC Commissioner, the Region XIX Administrator, and the NJCAA.
- Serves as liaison to local media outlets to coordinate coverage of Mighty Oaks athletic events
- Works closely with College’s Website System Specialist and public relations and marketing staff
- Assists with NJCAA compliance issues and paperwork
- Performs general office duties
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience:
- Previous experience in sports information and/or reporting preferred, and familiarity with Presto system.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required
Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, coaches, officials, faculty, staff, administrators and the general public
Technical Skills:
- Working knowledge of current and emerging computer hardware and software, including Microsoft Office products.
- Proficiency in a variety of social media platforms. Video production and graphic design skills, preferred
Other Skills:
- General knowledge of a variety of sports and of college athletics. Knowledge of statistics packages required
