I am a former collegiate student-athlete in track and field and had to quit due to a career-ending injury. I have been competing for the past 10 years in 4 different events. Injuries were a big commitment to doing a sport and had been neglected by many of my coaches. I believe working for sports rehab is important and I want to be educated on more.

Physical Therpist Aide

I worked with multiple physical therapists and assisted them. I was responsible for attaching/removing the TENS machines and providing ice/heat packs for patients. I was also responsible for performing ultrasounds on injuries and preparing traction machines for the neck and back. I also prepared compression boots for patients with leg injuries.

Changed my major to be more involved in the sports department as I felt upset about losing track and field or sports in general. I wanted to understand my injury (spondylitis) more while also preventing injuries for other athletes.

Came into SFSU as a student-athlete but had to quit as my injury took place. I wanted to go to community college to make sure I made the right decision academically as SFSU was chosen specifically for Track
