The Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention, care, and treatment of injuries to athletes using necessary knowledge of injury patterns and modern principle of athletic training.
Further responsibilities include:
- Collection of samples for drug testing.
- Supervision and education of student athletic trainers.
Required credentials include:
- Bachelors degree in a specialized curriculum accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
- Certificationfrom the Board of Certification of the National Athletic Trainers Association
