Internships in Sports Ticket Sales

If you love sports and want a career in sports ticket sales, an internship is the best way to break into the industry.

What will you do?

• Sell new group tickets, fan experience packages, full season tickets, partial season ticket plans, and premium seating.
• Make 80-100 outbound phone calls daily
• Set outside appointments, show seats, and give arena tours with the intent to close business.
• Answer incoming calls with the ability to up-sell callers into packages, groups, and suite rentals.
• Work games, nights, weekends and holidays as assigned (i.e. answer phones, work sales booths, visit clients).
• Represent the organization at in-house arena events and off-site community events promoting ticket opportunities.
• Prospect and qualify all potential sales opportunities in addition to the leads you are provided.
• Maintain computerized records of all clients and prospects.
• Provide unsurpassed customer service to prospects and current clients over the phone and in person.
• Assist customer service efforts (mailing invoices, delivering tickets, etc.).
• Attend weekly meetings and role-play sessions.
• Meet or exceed weekly and monthly sales goals.

What is generally required?

• Pursuing or attained a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sport Management, Marketing or related field.
• Prior sales experience is a plus, but not required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which includes nights, weekends and holidays as assigned.
• Desire to be a sales industry leader
• Ability to work as a team player
• Proficiency in basic computer software programs
