Internships in Sports Ticket Sales
So you are like the rest of us and can no longer live the dream of being a professional athlete. So what! That should not keep you from being involved in the game. As long as you are looking for internships in sports ticket sales, you might as well do it in an industry that you love.
If you love sports and want a career in sports ticket sales, an internship is the best way to break into the industry.
What will you do?
Sell new group tickets, fan experience packages, full season tickets, partial season ticket plans, and premium seating.
Make 80-100 outbound phone calls daily
Set outside appointments, show seats, and give arena tours with the intent to close business.
Answer incoming calls with the ability to up-sell callers into packages, groups, and suite rentals.
Work games, nights, weekends and holidays as assigned (i.e. answer phones, work sales booths, visit clients).
Represent the organization at in-house arena events and off-site community events promoting ticket opportunities.
Prospect and qualify all potential sales opportunities in addition to the leads you are provided.
Maintain computerized records of all clients and prospects.
Provide unsurpassed customer service to prospects and current clients over the phone and in person.
Assist customer service efforts (mailing invoices, delivering tickets, etc.).
Attend weekly meetings and role-play sessions.
Meet or exceed weekly and monthly sales goals.
What is generally required?
Pursuing or attained a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sport Management, Marketing or related field.
Prior sales experience is a plus, but not required.
Strong organizational and communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which includes nights, weekends and holidays as assigned.
