A strength and conditioning coach helps a player with a workout

The Las Vegas Golden Knights are hiring an Assistant Athletic Trainer & Strength and Conditioning Coach for an AHL affiliate.

The Assistant Athletic Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Coach are responsible for providing optimal health care and performance services in support of the Vegas Golden Knight’s contracted players. This role will uphold the unifying principles of the department and provide medical and performance services that are player-centric in construct and multidisciplinary in execution.

Additional Duties include:

  • Deliver care, prevention, rehabilitation, and health care administration services that are quality in nature and relevant to the functional demand of the players at all training sessions, practices, and NHL games.
  • Stay current with professional practice, research, and evidence to recommend the employment of interventions to elevate player healthcare and performance management.
  • Under the guidance of the Head Athletic Trainer, help ensure the department’s daily operational needs are met with the highest possible standard of professionalism, care, and ethics.
  • Work proactively and collaboratively with other performance team members (team physicians, performance coaches, nutritionists, mental skills coaches, and massage therapists) to achieve optimal health, well-being, and performance of the players.
  • Support and deliver emergency medical services within the scope of practice.
  • Follow defensible documentation practices for medical and performance service delivery and communications.
  • Promote a safety-conscious and hygienic environment in your daily practice.

Recommended Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities include:

  • University-degree and valid license in Athletic Therapy or Athletic Training (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach certification required
  • Demonstrated experience in sports medicine and the ability to supervise a comprehensive sports medicine program
  • Valid BLS certification (additional emergency medical training and certifications preferred)
  • One year or more relevant post-licensure work experience
