West Virginia University (WVU) provides one of the regions most unique and exciting college hockey experiences. Participants of WVU’s ACHA Division I hockey team have the opportunity to combine a high level athletic experience with study at a nationally recognized university and experiencing life in West Virginia’s “University City.” WVU’s D1 roster is typically comprised of players from across the United States and Canada who have played NCAA, high level high school, prep school, Junior A, AAA, and AA hockey. The teams are coached by experienced hockey experts committed to consistently fielding nationally ranked teams while emphasizing the balance between success on the ice and in the classroom. WVU’s schedule is recognized as among the toughest in the ACHA including opponents such as Ohio University, Liberty University, and Stony Brook University. CMHA conference rivals include the University of Pittsburgh. Mercyhurst University, and Robert Morris University.
