Position Summary

 

2024 Copa America will be the 48th edition organized by South America’s football ruling body CONMEBOL. The tournament will be held in the United States and co-organized by Concacaf. Soccer United Marketing (SUM) is the hired agency to operate ticket sales, and operations for the 2024 tournament.   

 

This role will manage the marketing and promotions of the marquee events for Soccer United Marketing focusing on COPA America.  Responsibilities will include driving awareness and creating meaningful action/data capture.  This includes oversight of the marketing mix, campaign performance, management of paid and earned media (digital/social and traditional), and promotional partnerships. 

 

The role requires smart and timely campaign development and delivery across multiple brand touchpoints. Strategies will utilize the individual property’s unique positioning and ensure it is communicated effectively to a variety of crucial audiences. The main goal is to excite and educate the market, drive data capture, sell tickets, and drive fans to the sport and competition.

 

Responsibilities

 


  • Oversee the coordination and leadership of integrated marketing campaigns for assigned SUM properties including planning, creative development, communication, and channel distribution (paid, owned and other partners).

  • Management of staff, providing leadership support across an integrated group, including CRM, digital, and traditional media and creative services.

  • Work with and build relationships with MLS and Liga MX clubs to organize and manage a unified message & marketing to the marketplace.

  • Management, planning and oversight of media budgets.

  • Act as the project lead for related meetings, provide core project updates and report to senior management and event organizing committee.

  • Ensure alignment of brand marketing and messaging, while ensuring connectivity with Concacaf and the North American club ecosystem.

  • Collaborate with sponsorship sales organization to create scalable platforms and build value for properties.

  • Work with internal team members to drive integration within the ecosystem of Apple products and services.

Qualifications

 

Education and Experience

 


  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 8+ years of experience in brand and/or product management.

 

 

 

Required Skills

 


  • Fluency in English and Spanish (business proficiency; both written and oral).

  • Creatively minded, ability to understand design world, and lead creative collaborations.

  • Great storyteller, with proven ability to build and scale social audiences.

  • Experience creating and executing successful marketing and promotions plans.

  • High digital acumen including proficiency in data driven digital marketing with all major platforms (Meta, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Apple products and services, etc.).

  • Proven ability to maximize google search, SEO, and position MLS on the forefront of digital innovation (new digital platforms, methodology, technologies, etc.

  • Ability to lead cross functional teams and accomplish objectives through others.

  • Collaborative and engaging disposition with the ability to remain positively focused when overcoming challenges.

  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills.

  • Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail.

  • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity, and compliance.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and KeyNote.

  • Knowledge of the Spanish language (business proficiency).

  • Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Ability to travel for match day from mid-June through mid-July 2024 as required.

 

 

 

Desired Skills

 


  • Sports marketing experience.

  • Knowledge of the sport of soccer and soccer ecosystem.

  • Understanding of Hispanic culture and soccer (fútbol).

 

 

 

Compensation:

 

Base Salary $110,000 – $135,000 USD.
