JOB MISSION:
Work as part of a network support team reporting to the Lead Network Architect. Design, deploy, monitor, and maintain New Balance’s enterprise network with a strong focus on firewalls (NGFW), overall network security, and network route/switch configurations. Assist in the day to day operations of New Balance enterprise systems including corporate, retail, cloud, and data center infrastructures. Be comfortable in an environment with flexible work schedules, 24/7 availability and on-call rotation. Provide excellent client service while evaluating enhancements to the global networks by making use of technical knowledge, experience, and an in-depth understanding of switching, routing, and data flows. Resolve issues by taking the appropriate corrective action, or following the appropriate escalation procedures. Work in a team environment and monitor the health and wellness of devices on our networks. As a networking expert with a strong technical foundation, operate and maintain our corporate network, help other subject matter experts best utilize network resources.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Network security (firewalls, DMZ architectures, cloud services)
- Content / load balancing, Network Security, Firewalls, VPN as well as network management
- User and site-to-site VPN (IPsec, SSL)
- Incident management
- Layer 2 and 3 network design and protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS)
- Wireless networking design and protocols
- Network infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP)
- Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches
- Networking of VMWare ESX virtual servers
- Managing the on-call response
- Leading and Project Managing Networking projects
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS
- 7+ years of related experience
- BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
- Highly motivated with ability to drive results
- Self-starter with high energy to meet the needs of a demanding business and IT environment
- Experience with designing, building, and monitoring routers and switches as well as mentoring Junior Engineers
- Strong understanding of data center network provisioning
- Understanding and use of network management tools
- Experience deploying and managing firewalls/routers.
- Experience with deploying and managing multisite VPN solutions
