Cascade Maverik Lacrosse, LLC is seeking a Product Development Manager, or experienced Product Developter of Helmets and Headgear

We are Cascade Maverik Lacrosse. We are the brand leaders in the design and manufacture of Lacrosse equipment, creating products that elevate our athletes’ performance and setting industry performance and reliability benchmarks with our top selling helmets, headgear and equipment.

We are seeking to add a dynamic and experienced Product Development Manager to our Research & Development team in Syracuse, NY.

The Product Developmer / Manager works collaboratively within a high-functioning R&D team and with the brand managers to produce an innovative lacrosse product line from inception to reality. He/she manages and works hands-on with the team in the design and development of projects from brief to commercialization for existing products and for entirely new products to create and produce compelling and appealing consumer products.

The Product Developer / Manager continually seeks expert advice and input through collective team research efforts including field-testing and consumer feedback. He/she ensures work is completed within specified timeframes, managing the development, validation and standards process throughout all development phases and in the test lab, ensuring products meet or exceed all required standards for fit, safety, comfort, color and design.

The Product Developer / Manager proactively manages the finalized execution of all product details, working diligently and cooperatively with all internal colleagues to resolve problems. He/she tracks and analyzes all aspects of product pricing to meet product cost targets and support margin-related objectives including tooling amortization. He/she engages other internal stakeholders in discussions and decisions to assist in sourcing and in the implementation of manufacturing processes, maintaining quality control guidelines and SEI certifications on all products. 

The Product Developer / Manager is highly proficient in the use of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and other related programs used in creating cutting-edge products that improve design image, performance and consumer appeal. He/she understands design trends and how to translate them to design application and has the ability to forecast next creation of design phase. He/she is an adept communicator willingly soliciting feedback, encouraging sharing of ideas and allowing free and open dialogue. He/she possesses and exhibits excellent time and project management and organizational skills and is detail-oriented. The Product Development manager seeks and offers creative viable solutions to any situation while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, competitive environment.                                                                                                                                                                         

The responsibilities of the position require:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial design or a related program and 5 to 8 year’s work experience in a related position.  

• Must be highly proficient is Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop.
• Must be proficient with Windows office.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks is preferred.
• Must possess excellent time and project management skills.
• Must be a creative and innovative problem solver.
• Must demonstrate initiative and be a self-starter.
• Must have ability to forecast next creation of design phase.
• Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills required.
• Must be detail-orientated with ability to offer creative viable solutions
• Must have proven ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced competitive environment.
• Required travel 10-15% of the time vendors and testing sites to monitor and trouble-shoot product development and testing, research materials or resolve other issues.
