Job Summary

As the Head Women's Soccer Coach, you are responsible for providing effective leadership for, and day-to-day management of, the soccer program.  You'll provide training and guidance to foster skill development and teamwork among student-athletes, facilitate the integration of athletics into each student's educational experience, and initiate activities in support of the mission of Athletics & Recreation.  You are responsible for recruiting, fundraising and must have a thorough knowledge and conscientious adherence to the rules and regulations of the NCAA, the Centennial Conference, Title IX and equal opportunity regulations, FERPA, and all applicable College policies and practices. 

Major duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Implementing and maintaining a standard of performance consistent with the College's goals of academic and athletic excellence.
  • Providing instruction, mentoring, coaching, evaluation of, and guidance to student-athletes to allow them to develop their athletic skills and abilities to maximize potential.
  • Supports, monitors and applies relevant rules and regulations developed by the Athletic Department Compliance Office, including the Code of Conduct and sportsmanship guidelines.
  • Work with Admission personnel to develop and implement recruiting strategies and programs to identify and attract promising student-athletes.
  • Manage the program within budgetary guidelines to avoid exceeding budgetary limits.  Formulate and submit an annual budget request as necessary.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of previous coaching experience required.
  • Experience recruiting prospective scholar-athletes.
  • Experience managing a budget preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Must possess current CPR, AED and first aid certification.
  • The ability and willingness to provide excellent service and to work in a collegial manner with students, faculty and staff, and other constituencies is essential.

Because this position requires driving for College business, the successful candidate must possess a U.S. or Canadian driver's license which has been valid for at least two years, have a driving record that is free from excessive motor vehicle violations within the last three years, and have had no convictions in the last 24 months for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Because this position works with minors (non F&M students under the age of 18) mandatory training must be completed prior to working with minors. The online training course must be completed at least once every two years by faculty, staff and Franklin & Marshall students who interact with minors.  

 

Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of reference checks, a criminal background verification, Pennsylvania ACT 153 background clearances, and verification of credentials.  The College will coordinate these verifications.
