Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY Assist the Marketing and Sponsorship Departments with photography needs including, but not limited to action shots, ballpark shots and proof of performance for sponsors. Assist in creating an engaging, active and interesting social media presence across multiple channels during 2018 Cougars games. 

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT NEEDED Ability to use camera, cell phone, tablet, computer and radio. 

DIRECTION EXERCISED Photograph action on the field, fans throughout the ballpark and sponsorship signage. Interact with fans for in-game social media contests, on-field promotions, etc. while capturing content to display on Cougars social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat).

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS Hours will vary, but include evenings, weekends, holidays, game days and non-game days if needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT Work will be focused on game days. Our work environment is very physical, fast paced and at times very stressful. The photography/social media intern will be expected to be outside in the stadium and in the elements. The team typically plays rain or shine, cold or warm.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Long periods of time spent on your feet. Have the ability to move up to 35 pounds. Physically access all areas of the ballpark quickly and safely. Ability and willingness to use personal devices while moving throughout the confines of the ballpark and its exterior.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Ability to multitask, take direction, actualize direction and build upon it to become increasingly independent.  
2. Follow scripted requirements from marketing, sponsorship and promotions team.  
3. Communicate with other departments and employees to ensure world-class game day show, great Guest courtesy and the safety of all individuals.  
4. Develop a variety of content for the Cougars social media accounts (post, pictures, video, graphics, Snapchat stories, GIFs, blogs, etc.). 
5. Assist with photography needs including ballpark signage, players and fans. 
6. Suggest social media postings from prior experience and pitch new/creative ideas for content.
7. Help to organize and maintain library of photos and videos for marketing and sponsorship use.
8. Exude energy and excitement at all work functions to engage fans.
9. Commitment, timeliness and positivity are required.
10. Reliability and dedication, excellent communication skills.
11. Ability to think on one's feet, problem-solve and make decisions without direct supervision.

MEETINGS Meet with marketing and promotions staff prior to each scheduled game and as requested.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Professional: Excellent customer service skills and professionalism when interacting with others. Previous experience managing social media accounts for a sports team, business or organization. Knowledge of the Cougars social media presence and the image exuded to fans. Willingness to work as a member of a marketing team. Creativity and knowledge of pop culture, sports teams' social media habits photography, sponsorship, baseball and the Cougars fan base..

Personal: Project a positive image to internal (employees) and external (fans, vendors) customers. Communicate effectively and professionally at all times. Ability to perform multiple tasks at one time, clean and neat at all times, team builder and team player.
