Job Summary

Summary

The United States Olympic Committee is seeking a Social Media Intern to help lead Team USA’s day-to-day efforts throughout social media. The candidate will assist in managing our official accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, G+, LinkedIn and Snapchat. The social media intern will be responsible for helping lead our real-time conversation with Team USA Fans and executing Team USA social media initiatives. The candidate should be a self-starter with a knack for developing creative content for social media audiences. The ideal person should be very familiar with social media platforms and have a knowledge and passion for sport.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Daily monitoring of USOC social media platforms, flexibility to work nights and weekends (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram, LinkedIn Snapchat, Pinterest).
  2. Proactively engage in DAILY social conversations with fans, athletes and celebrities.
  3. Write creative copy for social media platforms to promote TeamUSA.org content and video.
  4. Research, strategize and execute social media campaigns on all Team USA social media platforms
  5. Design basic images/GIFS in Photoshop for posting on various social media platforms.
  6. Assist in producing weekly and monthly social media analytics reports.
  7. Report on industry trends to help ensure the USOC social media platforms are innovative and cutting edge.
  8. Curate content to expand the USOC’s presence on Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn & Snapchat

Qualifications

  • Educational Requirements: Enrolled in a journalism, marketing/advertising, graphic design or related Bachelor’s degree program at the junior or senior level status or enrolled in a Master degree program, or graduated within the past 12 months.
  • Experience using social media for professional/journalistic endeavors (ie: Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Snapchat, etc.)
  • Graphic Design skills are a MUST (Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Premier)

Tools/Equipment:

  • Standard Office Equipment
  • Microsoft Applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Adobe Creative Cloud software
