JOB MISSION

Our eCommerce websites have the potential to revolutionize our business, so we take great care to ensure they operate smoothly and provide the best user experience possible. As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will be vital to this process, performing aspects of frontend development while overseeing the workflow for a team of 4-5 UI content developers. You will lead the development process for international and domestic eCommerce websites – focusing on upholding integrity and uncovering avenues for improvement – while also working in a highly collaborative environment to develop elegant, responsive web pages using the latest frontend technologies. Additionally, you will be required to manage small/medium sized projects and ensure delivery commitments to stakeholders.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Perform software development and document technical solutions to enhance our eCommerce websites
• Manage small and medium size projects independently
• Mentor less experienced developers and lead them through technical challenges
• Participate in coding of complex solutions and review the work of others
• Maintain scope, documentation, and integrity of all projects
• Assist with quality assurance activities, including unit testing and integration testing
• Assist the group’s Solution Architect with conceptualization and execution of high level technical plans and policies for development and standardization
• Ensure that applications are performing optimally both functionally and technically
• Proactively raise risks and issues to project management and business partners
• Translate technical information to non-technical associates at multiple levels of the organization
• Assist with technical support and triage of complex production issues
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that grow the team and mature operational processes
• Participate in administrative process discussions designed to maximize team productivity

Requirements for success

• 6+ years’ application/web development experience
• 2+ years’ ecommerce development experience
• B.S. in Computer Sciences, Programming, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Expertise in HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript frontend code
• Experience with an eCommerce platform such as Demandware, ATG, WebSphere, or Magento preferred
• Familiarity with A/B testing and Agile methodologies
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio IDE, Eclipse, or other related IDE products
• Practice with advanced troubleshooting techniques
• Strong understanding of the SDLC and related processes
• Ability to optimize performance drivers of pages and entire websites
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
