Job Summary
The Hastings Sodbusters summer collegiate baseball team has completed a successful 2018 season in the brand-new Expedition League. Playing at beautiful and historic Duncan Field (1,350 capacity), the Sodbusters provide affordable, family fun all summer long in a minor league baseball setting. Music, food, beer, contests, giveaways and more – the Sodbusters put on a show every night. This position is responsible for seeking and securing sponsorship and ticket clients as well as being the leader of the organization during the summer; managing staff and stadium operations.
We are looking for the RIGHT person, not just A person. This person will have one year of direct sports management and sales experience, understand the concepts of minor league sports, and have a tireless work ethic. A thirst for “more” and an “everywhere-all-the-time” attitude is essential.

Overview of duties:
Sales:
· Sales of marketing, ticket, group, and other packages to local businesses and organizations
· Prospects leads and work off provided lead list to make appointments to meet local businesses
· Track sales efforts and report to management through methods established by management
· Assist in managing contracting, billing, fulfillment, and reporting functions in conjunction with management
· Provide ongoing, excellent customer service with existing, new, and prospective clients and corporate partners
Concessions Operations:
· Manage, with input and guidance from management, ongoing concessions staff and efforts at Duncan Field
· Lead in concessions hiring, training, payroll management, supply management, and general food and alcohol service efforts
· Main point of contact for food and alcohol service workers and suppliers
Stadium Operations:
· Work with management to develop, plan, staff, and execute Sodbusters in-game entertainment program
· Responsible for daily stadium opening, closing, oversight of game-day and concessions staff at all Sodbusters games
· Responsible for managing and reporting payroll information for all paid game-day staff to management
Office:
· Help recruit, train, and manage a 8-person summer intern staff as well as a 25-person part-time employee staff
· Keep office functions operating smoothly – return phone calls on time, keep files accurate, maintain records of business and baseball operations
Baseball Operations:
· Work with Manager to manage paperwork, equipment, in-season travel itineraries, etc. (with intern help)
Salary:
· Commensurate with experience including base salary and commission/bonuses to be determined
