Job Summary
Summary:
The Assistant/Associate Athletic Director for Compliance/Internal Relations will report to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for ensuring departmental compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations.
This position will provide leadership and oversight of a comprehensive Division II compliance program in all matters pertaining to the monitoring, interpreting, educating, documenting and investigating of all institutional, NCAA and conference rules and regulations; as well as submitting required NCAA reports and serving as liaison.
This position will also serve on the senior leadership team within the Department of Athletics and will participate in the development and coordination of programs, policies, and procedures for all sports.
Title and position will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
60% Compliance for the Department of Athletics:
Establish and implement appropriate departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all NCAA, and university rules and regulations; as well provide rules education to both internal and external constituents in order to ensure a culture of compliance and institutional control.
• Ability to interpret rules and provide education to coaches, boosters, student-athletes, and staff regarding university, conference, and NCAA eligibility legislation.
• Conduct pre-season NCAA certification meetings to coordinate completion of compliance forms.
• Monitor initial and continuing eligibility for student-athletes.
• Monitor playing and practice seasons, process waivers, monitor recruiting and logs, etc.
• Collaborate with Associate AD for Student Services to monitor progress-towards-degree and other NCAA, conference and university academic eligibility requirements.
• Complete required conference and NCAA compliance reports.
• Serve as liaison with NCAA Eligibility Center.
• Collaborate with the offices of Financial Aid, Registrar and Admissions offices to ensure accurate certification of initial and continuing student-athlete eligibility.
