Job Summary

POSITION SUMMARY: To ensure education is at the heart of the Academy’s long-term vision for future player development initiatives. In year one the Educational Welfare Manager will be responsible to coordinate and manage the club’s school daily release and homestay programs.  This is a part-time position (20 hours/week).

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Work in line with the clubs’ vision and core values
  •  Work within and uphold all of the Academy’s policies, procedures and codes of conduct
  •  Hold and maintain Safe Sport certification for Child Protection as required by US Soccer
  • Manage and maintain confidential record keeping on all aspects related to player welfare
  •  Management of the club’s new School Day Release Program
  •  Collaborate with Academy Director to create School Day Release Program and lead the educational component – Classroom should encourage creativity and independent learning that also promotes the value of working within a group or team. The program should also help promote the club’s core values and culture
  • Lead the hiring process of tutors for the School Day Release Program
  •  Contact players’ schools to request players release and educate them on the benefits of the program
  •  Collaborate with each player’s school to ensure each student educational standards are maintained or improved
  •  Liaise with players’ parents/legal guardians throughout the program and provide written feedback annually on the students’ progress
  •  Manage the club’s Homestay program

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

  • Background and working experience in Education and Teaching
  • Knowledge of the local educational landscape in the Tri-State area
  • Experience implementing Day Release Programs – desired not essential
  •  Background in implementing programs for personalized learning • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to maintain records
  •  Good organizational skills and time management
  •  Excellent IT and presentation skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Dedicated to self-improvement and personal development
