Job Summary
Job Summary: Under the general direction of the Director of Athletics, the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach will recruit qualified student-athletes for the program, instruct and develop the student-athlete in the sport of women's lacrosse, game preparation, and community involvement. The Head Coach provides administrative support to the College's NCAA Division III program. The Head Coach will also support the mission and goals of the Athletic Department. This position requires travel with the team to scheduled sporting events. Evening and weekend work is required to support sporting events and/or special projects. The Intramural Coordinator will be responsible for running the entire intramural program and will strive for a high rate of student participation through publicity, recruiting and organization. The Title IX Resource for Athletics will monitor and implement gender and minority equity plans that meet the requirements of Title IX and reflect the values of College.
Job Responsibilities:
- Providing one-on-one teaching instruction on related skill development and critique, rules, technologies and strategies
- Organizing and conducting practices during the traditional season (as defined by the National Collegiate Athletic Association) for this sport
- Developing team travel and security plans in compliance with departmental and College guidelines for safety and other requirements
- Serving as the representative of the department and the College during team travel for in- and out-of-season competition
- Managing and accounting for team money distributed for meal and/or other expenses
- Submitting required forms and reports to Director of Athletics and Accounting Department
- Assisting in the management of operational budget issues: participate in uniform and equipment purchase process; plan and coordinate team travel under the supervision of Director of Athletics's Office; develop and implement fund-raising strategies
- Refering student-athletes to College resources as necessary to assist with academic, medical, and/or personal issues that may arise throughout the year;
- Work with the Director of Athletics and Department of Admission to develop annual recruiting plan for identifying prospective student-athletes
- Working closely with the Sports Information Director to develop annual media plan that includes media guides, news releases, etc. for promotion of student-athletes, the team, and the College
- Developing strategies and initiatives to promote the value of diversity and equity in a broad-based intercollegiate athletics program
- Scheduling all game managers for fall, winter and spring contests
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of women's lacrosse
- Completion of a Bachelor's degree
- Succesful coaching experience
- Computer proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
