Job Summary
About the Position
The Human Resources Director originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives.
This position develops and coordinates the implementation of services, policies and programs and assists and advises company managers about Human Resources issues. The HR Director takes a leadership role in developing a culture that enables employees to perform in accordance to the Company’s objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the work of reporting staff; encourage the ongoing development of reporting staff
- Manage company performance management process, including performance reviews and employee development programs
- Assist in a company-wide process of organizational development that addresses issues such as, succession planning, workforce development, key employee retention, organizational design, and change management
- Determine, recommend, and implement employee relations practices necessary to promote a high level of employee morale and motivation
- Conduct periodic surveys to measure employee satisfaction and employee engagement
- Coach and train managers in their communication, feedback, recognition, disciplinary actions, and interaction responsibilities with the employees who report to them
- Assist with the establishment of in-house employee training systems that address company training needs; select and contract with, or assist with selecting or contracting with, external training partners
- Conduct investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth
- Identify and monitor the organization’s culture so that it supports the attainment of the company’s goals and promotes employee satisfaction
Required Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration or related area of study
- Seven years of progressive experience in Human Resources positions
- Specialized training in employment law, compensation, training and development, employee relations, and labor relations
- Demonstrated success in organizing a company for improved efficiency, while strategizing for the future management needs of a high growth, collaborative, and performance-based environment
- Ability to work independently, as well as lead and inspire large teams of employees from cross-functional backgrounds
- Strong project management skills with a focus on analytics as well as, strategic and predictive metrics
- Strong working knowledge of employment law, including hiring practices, wage and hour, labor relations, etc.
- PHR or SPHR preferred
