Job Summary
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for all aspects in leading a competitive NCAA Division II women's basketball program to include, but not limited to: strategic and operational aspects of the sport; planning and hosting prospective student-athlete on campus visits; responding to contacts to include coaches' mailings, player questionnaires, observing team practices and games, phone calls, recruitment, emails, and admission contacts; establishing and maintaining a recruiting database; performing phone calls and emails to recruits; attending practices and/or games of recruits; building relationships with prospective and current student-athletes; arranging bus and van schedules, pre-and post-game meals, and overnight accommodations; planning and conducting basketball camps, clinics, leagues, lessons, and tournaments; analyzing prospects, current players, and opponents, as appropriate; monitoring academic progress with study tables, academic meetings, class scheduling, and/or classroom checks; meeting established fund raising goals for the program; participating in community fund-raising activities, as coordinated by the Director of Athletics; developing and implementing daily practice plans; assisting in creating and implementing strength and conditioning plans for the program; and all other related duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Required Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a related field and in-depth knowledge and understanding of conference and NCAA rules and regulations; exceptional leadership skills; a proven track record of consistently modeling positive behaviors at all times; strong follow-through skills, as well as, the ability to plan, organize, and control projects through to completion; strong desire and ability to successfully recruit; ability to handle and maintain confidential information; willingness to travel nights and weekends; and the ability to work effectively in a diverse community. The successful candidate must possess demonstrated basketball coaching experience as a head or assistant coach at a NCAA Division I/II program.
Proposed Salary
The salary is commensurate with education and experience.
