Job Summary
DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
Primary Duties
- Assist in coaching at all team practices, work outs and scheduled competitions. Primary area of coaching is the weight events.
- Recruit highly qualified prospective student-athletes.
- Carry out administrative duties in the men's and women's track and cross country program as assigned by the head coach.
- Monitor player academics including student welfare and encouraging academic excellence.
- Order, organize, assign and collect, and account for all gear related to track and field.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SUBSTITUTIONS, CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited 4-year institution
- At least 2 years of experience at the collegiate level in track and/or cross country as a student-athlete or coaching experience at the high school or higher level
Preferred Qualifications
- Successful experience coaching at the collegiate level in track/cc
- Previous experience recruiting for NCAA qualified student-athletes
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
- Experience with and commitment to working with diverse student populations
- Effective oral and communication skills
