Job Summary
Position Summary
The Athletic Department is seeking an Athletic Equipment Attendant within our Performance Enhancement/Strength and Conditioning department. This is a part time on-call position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist Performance Enhancement staff with the development of all physical characteristics for assigned Olympic sports programs. These characteristics include strength, speed, conditioning, body profile management, and functional stages of rehabilitation for injured athletes cleared for participation by the medical staff
- Instruct in lifting techniques, plyometrics and sprint development under supervision of performance staff.
- Responsible for cleaning and upkeep of the facility
- Learn and assist with Testing and evaluation of athletic performance on strength, power, flexibility, body fat percentage and specific conditioning
- Work cooperatively with the Medical Services staff to provide remedial programs for correction of deficiencies as a result of insufficient training or injury
- Assist with the development and maintenance of a database for assigned student-athletes
- Enforce the rules and regulations governing the activity in the weight room
- Other department duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to develop and maintain positive interpersonal relationships
- Knowledge of basic computer operations and software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions
- Dedication and motivation to initiate, lead and support value-added projects
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Knowledge of position related rules and compliance (Example: NCAA, PAC-12 knowledge)
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and has a positive demeanor
- Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to plan, establish priorities and successfully manage multiple priority projects
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels, and project a positive, professional attitude
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or a related field
- 1 year of experience in strength and conditioning at the collegiate level
- CSCS or SCCC Certification
- CPR & AED Certification
- USAW Certification
- Background/Experience in athletics and training
