Recreation Center Building Manager

  • Reports to the Director of Athletics and the Associate Director of Athletics for Facilities & Operations.
  • Supervises the daily operations of the Recreation Center, including:
  1. Opening and closing of the facility.
  2. Hiring, scheduling and supervising of student-workers.
  3. Oversight of the building's physical condition, repairs and physical needs.
  4. Appropriate announcements of building closures due to holidays and inclement weather.
  5. On-site event management, if needed.
  • Updates the Recreation Center website and all social media outlets to which the facility is registered.

Assistant Coach

  • Reports to the Director of Athletics and the Head Coach.
  • Assists the Head Coach in organizing, developing and administering an intercollegiate program for a designated sport in compliance with the rules and regulations of the department.
  • Teaches, evaluates and refines sport specific skill development for student-athletes.
  • Participates in the recruitment of qualified student-athletes within university and NCAA Division III guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Athletic Administration, Facility Management, Recreation, or a closely related field, or equivalent related work experience.
  2. Prior experience coaching and/or playing, preferably on the intercollegiate level.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to enhance effective interaction with students, recruits, administrators, alumni and the community.
  4. First Aid and CPR certification required.
  5. National Red Cross certification preferred.
  6. Pool operation certification desirable.
  7. Familiarity with social media and web content maintenance preferred.
  8. Must be willing to travel and be available to work flexible hours including nights and weekends as required.
  9. Valid U.S. driver's license from the state in which the candidate resides and an acceptable driving record in accordance with the university's Motor Vehicle policy.
  10. A MVC check will be required at the time of hire and thereafter as deemed appropriate by the university. 
  11. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check.
