Job Summary
Job Summary- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Community Relations department and Give Back.
- Interact with members of all departments to facilitate internal and external development, communication of, and implementation of programs and initiatives.
- Use various channels to publicize and coordinate special events and programs.
- Report to the Director, Special Projects.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assist Director with development and implementation of all special events, community activities, and fundraisers.
- Assist Director with development and implementation of a strategic community engagement vision and plan.
- Assist and coordinate day-to-day operations and communications related to Community Relations.
- Proactively assist the Director and other executives within the organization to foster a presence in Tucson and the surrounding communities.
- Through community relations programs, facilitate and support ticket initiatives and revenue goals in partnership with ticketing management.
- Embrace the Mission, Vision, & Values of the organization and foundation.
- Schedule and book Dusty and inflatables for community and events.
- Manage the community relations calendar and work to update and provide information to the office regarding community relations and events and initiatives.
- Track community efforts and outreach (Numbers of appearances, programs reached, etc.).
- Catalog and track all in-kind donations.
- Fulfill donation requests and enter into database while utilizing the help of interns as needed.
- Assist the Communications Department by providing updated content for the Community tab on the website.
- Assist with the execution of the 50/50 raffle, including setting up stations and equipment, meeting with and answering questions from participating non-profit organizations, counting and organizing money, etc.
- Assist with in-game fundraising efforts of the Foundation, including sales of charitable items and management and collection of silent auctions.
- Manage team / community relations and inventory items.
- Assist with volunteer projects, player appearances and communications of community related events (hospital visits, PSA, sponsor events, etc.).
- Provide timely and as needed updates to Directors.
- Provide administrative support and assist other Community Relations and initiatives as directed by the Director, Special Projects.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications
Knowledge, Skill and Ability
- Undergraduate degree required.
- Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task.
- Self-motivated team player willing to stay nimble and flexible.
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Finessed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly organized, self-directed, solutions-oriented problem-solver.
- Manage up when appropriate.
- Must be creative, detail oriented, and possess a strong work ethic
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Position requires working some weeknights and weekends as necessary in addition to normal business hours
Experience
- Prior customer service experience, preferably in sports industry
- Background in event coordination, community programming, and non-profit fundraising.
- Administrative background a plus.
