Job Summary

Primary responsibilities:

  • Creation and execution of a robust digital and social media coverage plan for events that aligns with the Conference’s strategy, development, and production of editorial content for the digital and social media platforms
  • Creation of graphic design elements for both digital and print needs
  • Study of performance to analyze data and develop best practices for social media execution
  • Collaboration with institutional external relations staff on content creation and execution
  • Collaboration with the video services team on an execution plan for all video content
  • Collaboration with staff on ideation and implementation of the social media strategy.
  • The person in this role is a storyteller, idea generator, and strategic thinker with exceptional creative and writing skills.
  • This position requires a firm understanding of how content performs on different social media platforms.
  • Exceptional analytical skills are preferred, with the ability to identify opportunities for operational success.
  • The position requires travel to institutions and events, including championships, Hall of Fame, and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee events. They will represent at all events and institutional visits, assisting the staff in additional roles, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of intercollegiate athletics and its institutions’ programs.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the core values of integrity, communication and collaboration, servant leadership, inclusion, excellence, and innovation.
  • Highly developed organizational and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated high-level proficiency in various technologies including Microsoft programs (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects) and other relevant software.
  • Ability to demonstrate professional competency by establishing and meeting deadlines, balancing multiple responsibilities in a timely and high-quality fashion.
  • Effective and professional communication, both oral and written.
  • Ensure operations in area of responsibility comply with NCAA policy.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preference for major in communications, journalism, or multimedia-related field. Master’s or advanced/professional degree(s) preferred.
