Job Summary
Essential Functions:
- Assist Video Production Manager in the production of all athletic multimedia content
- Shoot and edit video content for the team across all platforms, including official website, social media accounts, in-venue video boards, and television
- Work with Digital Media team to produce innovative and engaging content for social media platforms, including GIFs, animations, short videos, and other social media-specific content
- Assist in coverage of athletic events, with a particular focus on identifying organic video content for social media platforms
- Assist in the production of live game production for in-venue video boards
- Act as game day liaison for the University’s School of Media and Communication’s streaming of select athletic events
- Create motion graphics for use in web, social media, video board, and live streaming content
- Fulfill all media, institution, and internal requests for video footage
- Assist in training Video Production Graduate Extern and student interns in best practices for video production
- Coordinate with other Temple Athletics departments, including compliance, marketing, academics, and development to fulfill requests for video content
- Travel with select teams to provide video coverage of away events
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years’ of experience working in sports video production at the collegiate level or in the television or other mass communication mediums.
- Experience shooting on DSLR/cinema cameras and editing on non-linear editing software
- Experience in the Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator and Photoshop; experience shooting event-driven videos, feature videos, and producing/directing live broadcasts.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency as a cinematographer, including technical skill with DSLR and cinema cameras.
- Expertise in managing the full production process and producing high-quality videos, including proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
- Experience in live production setup and operation, including familiarity with Newtek Tricaster.
- Ability to demonstrate creativity in both shooting and editing, and produce innovative content without direct supervision.
- Experience in a managerial or leadership role directing students and/or graduate externs in both live and non-live production practices.
- Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to customer service.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Strong integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference, and University rules.
