Job Summary
Responsibilities:
- Manage staff of mascots by interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Responsible for mascot costume operations, including creativity, care, cleaning, and maintenance
- Manage the mascots’ social media accounts
- Assist with execution of all special events
- Execute Community Week, MiLB activations, Feztival of Trees, and other community events as needed
- Coordinate and organize promotional and marketing efforts for overall outreach
- Assist with the development of the promotional and marketing plan for all theme nights and assist with the overall promotional calendar creation and execution
- Represent the organization at in-house ballpark events and off-site community events promoting ticket sales and the organization
- Assist with planning and coordinating large group events, group-specific theme nights, and special events
- Other duties as assigned
Game Day Responsibilities:
- Oversee mascots
- Assist with the execution of promotions and theme nights
- Assist in the ticket office and fan services, as needed
- Oversee and execute charity auctions
- Assist with execution of Community Organization of the Night
- Assist other departments when necessary
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Mass Communication, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to solve problems quickly
- Attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good working knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and database programs
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for organizational business preferred
- Ability and willingness to work varied and long hours including nights, weekends and holidays
