Job Summary

 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage staff of mascots by interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Responsible for mascot costume operations, including creativity, care, cleaning, and maintenance
  • Manage the mascots’ social media accounts

  • Assist with execution of all special events

  • Execute Community Week, MiLB activations, Feztival of Trees, and other community events as needed

  • Coordinate and organize promotional and marketing efforts for overall outreach

  • Assist with the development of the promotional and marketing plan for all theme nights and assist with the overall promotional calendar creation and execution

  • Represent the organization at in-house ballpark events and off-site community events promoting ticket sales and the organization
  • Assist with planning and coordinating large group events, group-specific theme nights, and special events

  • Other duties as assigned

 
Game Day Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee mascots

  • Assist with the execution of promotions and theme nights

  • Assist in the ticket office and fan services, as needed

  • Oversee and execute charity auctions

  • Assist with execution of Community Organization of the Night

  • Assist other departments when necessary 

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Mass Communication, Business Administration, or related field preferred 

  • Excellent customer service skills 

  • Ability to solve problems quickly 

  • Attention to detail 

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Good working knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and database programs 

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for organizational business preferred 

  • Ability and willingness to work varied and long hours including nights, weekends and holidays
