Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Management of intercollegiate events, with emphasis on customer experience, logistics, scheduling, supervision/training of support staff, game management, and event setup/breakdown
  • Oversight of budget and purchasing as it relates to Event Operations
  • Development and implementation of revenue generating activities relative to facility use
  • Management of capital improvements, maintenance, and athletics projects
  • Sport Administrator of at least two sports
  • Oversight of scheduling facilities
  • Oversight of the technological needs of the facilities including operation and maintenance of scoreboards, shot clocks, and videoboards
  • Ticket sales and strategy for growth
  • All aspects of media services
  • Functions of marketing and fan engagement as it relates to game day experience
  • Plan and coordinate all phases/staff of intercollegiate event operations and facilities to support all teams intercollegiate sports
  • Oversees the coordination and supervision of the Athletics maintenance to include total maintenance, improvement and game day preparation for the following areas: Basketball Arena, Baseball and Softball Fields, Soccer Facility, Indoor Track Facility and all other Athletic Facilities

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all the development of annual written plan for the athletic facility maintenance as well as need for new equipment; estimates materials, time and labor costs for routine maintenance
  • Assists in the preparation and administration of the annual budget; prepares annual reports as needed
  • Meets with vendors; works with University Purchasing, directs purchasing for facility maintenance products and equipment; searches for competitive prices on quality products to minimize costs and expenditures
  • Serves as department's liaison with Physical Plant and outside contractors to secure and transmit information concerning cost, timing, and completion of facility related projects; prepares and maintains records of work performed and completed
  • Serves as the direct supervisor to the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations and work together to hire, train, and provide supervision for student event staff
  • Prepares settlement of events by providing information and determining fiscal accuracy
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Four to five years experience in athletic facility operations, which include at least one year of supervisory and coordinative experience OR any equivalent combination of experience training and/or education
  • General knowledge of League and NCAA policies and regulations as they pertain to athletics operations, event management, and activities
  • Working knowledge and experience with athletics events and/or facility operation experience
  • Ability to develop policies and procedures related to facilities operations
  • Must possess time management, organizational, and communication skills, as well as be task-oriented
  • Supervisory experience
  • Ability to read, understand, perform, and enforce all safety policies and procedures in accordance with state, federal, local, university, and department established guidelines
  • Ability to read and interpret plans diagrams, construction documents and specifications
  • Skill in verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal skills
  • Self-directed, innovative and a strong problem solver in setting priorities and meeting goals
  • Ability to work scheduled hours including nights and weekends as needed to satisfy athletic facility needs for athletic contests and special/home events
  • Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions
  • Ability to move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds

Preferred:

  • Master's degree
