Job Summary

Description of Duties and Responsibilities

• The Deputy Director of Athletics reports to the Director of Athletics and oversees the day-to-day internal operations of the Athletics Department.
• The Deputy Director, when directed, participates in fund raising activities and donor cultivation.
• Along with the Director of Athletics, the Deputy Director has signature authority in the absence of the Director of Athletics and acts on his behalf in matters relating to the department.
• Additionally, the Deputy Director's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with all sponsorship efforts and opportunities, oversight of internal units and selected sports service areas including Event Management, Ticket Operations, Sports Medicine, Strength and Conditioning and Media Relations.
• The Deputy Director also provides leadership, direction and supervision to several Head Coaches.
• The Deputy Director must possess an energetic leadership style and, in concert with the Director of Athletics, have the ability to make decisions, problem solve and recommend long-range fiscal and operational plans.

Minimum Requirements for Entry into Position

• Bachelor's degree in a related field from a four-year college or university


• Three - five years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a collegiate athletic program
