Job Summary
Responsibilities
Equipment and Supplies Management
- Cleans, maintains, repairs, and issues all practice gear, uniforms and other essential equipment for all practices and competitions including team travel.
- Makes recommendations on replacement of equipment, clothing, and uniforms to coaches and/or Director of Athletics.
- Requests comparative bids from various vendors for equipment, clothing, and uniforms as requested.
- Receives ordered equipment and supplies and checks order for accuracy and quality.
- Maintains a complete and accurate inventory of all equipment (major and minor), clothing and supplies. Inventory to reflect all items assigned to Department of Athletics both internal and external.
- Manage and assist athletic department staff with all purchasing functions.
- Maintains working laundry facilities.
- Responsible for sport programs and department daily laundry needs.
- Facilitates annual re-conditioning process for helmets to ensure certification specifications are met.
- Annually reviews equipment and supplies in order to determine condition and safety.
Facility and Event Management
- Responsible for the preparation of all athletic facilities for practices/contests and scheduled events including; main gym, auxiliary gym, community stadium, multi-purpose fields, track and field complex, softball field, tennis courts, locker rooms and assigned green space.
- Ensure the setup and takedown of bleachers, PA systems, game clocks, scoreboards protective padding, nets, standards, etc., for all athletic contests, practices or other special events as requested in assigned spaces.
- Hire, train and supervise student workers to assist with assigned operations.
- Ensure fields and courts adhere to all NAIA/NCAA playing regulations.
- Responsible for securing assigned game management personnel (as assigned).
- Conduct light repair and maintenance of athletic related facilities.
- Serve as liaison to plant services staff (grounds, custodial etc.) related to athletic facilities needs.
- Conducts on-going inspections of all athletic facilities and facilitate repairs and/or recommendations for enhancements.
- Ensure the security of all equipment and athletic facility areas. Ensure that all areas are cleaned and organized.
- Communicate needed service requests to facility coordinator.
Budget Management
- Oversee assigned budget.
Minimum Qualifications
- Two years of experience in keeping stores and stores records; OR
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Valid Drivers License with a clean driving record.
- CPR and First Aid endorsements.
- Must satisfactorily complete criminal and credential background check. Having a criminal history is not an automatic bar to employment.
