Job Summary

Responsible for assisting with recruitment, development, management, coordination, and supervision of a competitive intercollegiate athletics program. Assists in communicating the vision for the department and assists with strategic initiatives. Overall responsibility for day to day internal operations of the Athletics Department. Works on cross-department projects that are aligned with the University's mission and strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

1. Oversees internal operations including administration of men's and women's athletics programs, budgets, game operations, human resources, equipment, scheduling, facilities, and capital projects
2. Serves as Chief Operations Officer for Athletics by advising the Director on long range and strategic planning initiatives, departmental policies and procedures development, planning, monitoring, and allocation of resources
3. Assists in the recruitment, development, management, supervision, and leadership of staff and head coaches in the department.
4. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, coaches contract administration, onboarding, staff evaluations, salary recommendations, and disciplinary action/dismissal of personnel if necessary.
5. Ensures stability and sustainability with the departmental budget in compliance with University policy and procedures
6. Develops and administers policies and procedures to ensure compliance with governing rules, regulations and risk management procedures and protocols to minimize the risk of liability
7. Manages additional internal or external operations based on business needs and qualifications
8. Provides direct supervision to selected sports teams if necessary
9. Oversees the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics in absence of the Director of Athletics
10. Oversee all related special projects
