The Southeastern Channel is Southeastern Louisiana University''s Emmy-winning television channel which has won over 400 national, international, and regional awards in its 18 years of existence, including top national honors from College Broadcasters, Inc., College Sports Media Awards, Telly Awards, Society of Professional Journalists, Broadcast Education Association, Associated Press College Broadcasters, Telly Awards, and top regional awards from the Suncoast Emmys (National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences). The channel reaches 250,000 on Spectrum cable, is on Roku, and is part of the university''s Department of Communication and Media Studies and provides students with real-world, hands-on experience in a new Sports Communication concentration with courses like live game broadcast production of all Division I college sports (Southland Conference) streaming live on ESPN+ where students man all positions, from game announcers to director, camera, replay, and graphics, etc.
