Job Summary

Role Title:  Lead Basketball Coach | East Coast Basketball League

Time Commitment:  November 2023 - June 2024

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates proficient knowledge of league rules.

• Studies the skills and abilities of the players on the team and puts each player in the most suitable position.

• Recognizes and uses each player’s specific talents to devise plays and playing strategies for games.

• Knows how many timeouts are left in each game and makes the best use of them.

• Leads practice and creates drills and practice exercises that will adequately prepare players for each game.

• Works with individual players to hone their particular skills. 

• Schedules practice with players.

• Serves as the main contact and communicates game day information with players.

• Participates in fundraising events and activities. 

• Talks to sports announcers and news reporters. 

• Follows and upholds the policies and mission statement of the organization.

• Have the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.

• Be able to effectively handle stress and keep the temper in check.

• Must have an excellent memory and superior concentration skills.

Qualifications:

• Have experience playing on a basketball team.

• Have experience as a basketball coach or an assistant basketball coach.

NCAA, Semi-Pro, Pro experience preferred
