Intern, Publications

The Publications Internship is a full-time paid (minimum wage) internship position beginning in January 2018 and ending in December 2018. The Publications Intern supports the day-to-day operations of the communications department, specifically related to team publications.

Essential Functions:

• Assisting in production of team publications, including regular season and post season media guides, gameday program, and alumni newsletter.
• Assist in planning overall look and feel of team publications, including but not limited to the media guide, yearbook, gameday program and alumni association newsletter.
• Aid in generating/writing creative content and layout of all team publications and Marlins’ social media platforms, as needed. Also assist in the design and production of print ads to be placed in various publications.
• Preparing statistical reports as needed for executive and coaching staff.
• Proofreading Marlins game notes during regular season; printing and distributing all game day materials for press box for Marlins and visiting PR.
• Assisting during press events and press conferences as needed and helping publicize the Marlins’ charitable, community, and marketing efforts through press releases. 
• Compiling digital news clips of all local media articles pertaining to the organization.
• Copying and distributing daily clips to front office staff.

Qualifications & Requirements:             

• Knowledge of graphic design programs; Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom
• Advanced grammatical skills
• Deadline oriented, extremely organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Possess strong attention to detail especially pertaining to editing and proofing
• Strong knowledge of the sport and team preferred
• Ability to work extended or irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays

Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines:

• BA degree in Communications, Journalism or related field
• Strong writing, editorial and creative background
