Job Summary

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assists the Head Trainer with all organizational duties to operate an effective athletic training program.
2. Assists in the development, supervision, and management of the budget for all athletic medical supplies and equipment.
3. Helps with the selection, training, and supervision of student helpers that assist in the training room.
4. Evaluates and provides appropriate care and treatment to male and female athletes for injuries they have sustained.
5. Develops and supervises rehabilitation programs for injured athletes.
6. Refers diagnosis of conditions to the team physician for injuries which athletes sustain.
7. Provides athletic training coverage during intercollegiate home contests and make arrangements for coverage to be provided by host schools when not traveling with teams.
8. Creates a contest and practice schedule and coordinate for coverage to be provided at each event.
9. Supervises and covers all pre-season and regular season activities of the University athletic teams.
10. Carries out all assigned duties as delegated by the Head Athletic Trainer.
11. Provides arrangements for the conduct of athletic physicals to be administered prior to the start of all sport programs.
12. Provides recertification training for athletic department staff in first aid, CPR, and the AED.
13. Develops and coordinates fund raising projects, when appropriate, that are within the guidelines set by the institution.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer and/or the Director of Athletics. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s Degree.
2. NATABOC and IDFPR certified in good standing.
3. CPR/First Aid, AED certified in good standing.
4. A valid driver’s license that is in good standing.
